STEP 13 – MUSCLE TENSION AND SORENESS

broken image

Persistent low mood brings with it a host of physical symptoms as well as emotional and mental ones: digestive problems, head tension, and MUSCLE SORENESS OR TENSION can be some of the most common.

A slowness in movements, reduced level of activity, and low energy can affect the health of our muscles, joints, and the circulation. For those with chronic issues, these may have been the precursor to a mental health issue.

Being more active—spending time outside, walking, etc.—can do much to improve the mood and get the circulation moving in the muscles and around the joints.

Of course, physical pain may also be masking emotional pain too.

Essential Oils not only comfort the mind but can also support occasional soreness and tension in the body. These Essential Oils include:

• ICE BLUE Soothing Blend

• AROMATOUCH Massage Blend

• Lemongrass

• Marjoram

• Ginger

• Black Pepper

• Siberian Fir

• Copaiba

• Lavender

• Peppermint

ICE BLUE SOOTHING BLEND is soothing, cooling, and comforting to the whole body; emotionally, it helps to support acceptance and encourages strength. A blend of Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, and Osmanthus, ICE BLUE SOOTHING BLEND is perfect for a relaxing and soothing massage.

PRACTICAL USES

• Apply on feet and knees before and after exercise.

• Massage ICE BLUE SOOTHING BLEND with a few drops of carrier oil onto growing kids’ legs before bedtime.

• Rub ICE BLUE SOOTHING BLEND on lower back muscles after a day of heavy lifting at work or during a move.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

TOPICAL USE: Apply to desired area. Dilute with Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize any skin sensitivity.

CAUTIONS

Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.

You can also make a wonderful DIY muscle rub with this recipe:

• 5 drops Ginger Essential Oil

• 5 drops Black Pepper Essential Oil

• 4 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil

• 4 drops Siberian Fir Essential Oil

Gently heat Coconut Oil and Beeswax using double boiler method until you have a liquid. Remove from heat and allow to cool for five minutes, stirring occasionally to keep mixture from solidifying.
